Dr. Rosa Mucignat is a Reader in Comparative Literature at King's College London's Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures. She has held this position since 2021, having joined King's College London in 2009 after completing her PhD there in Comparative Literature. She co-edits Comparative Critical Studies, the journal of the British Comparative Literature Association, and has been instrumental in major research initiatives including the Leverhulme International Network grant "Landscapes of Realism" (2016-2019) and the AHRC-funded project "Radical Translations: The Transfer of Revolutionary Culture Between Britain, France and Italy, 1789-1815" (2019-2023).
Dr. Mucignat completed her undergraduate and MA studies at the University of Bologna, Italy, before pursuing her PhD at King's College London, which she completed in 2009. Her academic journey reflects a deep commitment to transnational literary scholarship spanning Italian, French, British, and broader European traditions.
Her research spans a diverse yet interconnected range of interests centered on transnational communication of languages and ideas:

Her research on minority languages, particularly Friulian, has received attention in newspaper articles and interviews in Friuli and the diaspora, with her translation of Pasolini's "The Turks in Friuli" used for Italian national TV broadcasts.
