Breanna Browning is a Lecturer in the Department of Design Media Arts at UCLA, part of the School of the Arts and Architecture. She holds a Master of Science in Fiction and Entertainment from SCI-Arc (2022), an MLA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (2018), and a BArch from the same institution (2016). She also studied at Aalto University in Helsinki. Her practice merges digital and physical media through innovative uses of technology and traditional craft, focusing on themes of landscape, extraction, and speculative fiction.
- Teaching roles include UCLA DMA (2023–present), SCI-Arc, and the Architectural Association in London.
- Exhibitions: MIT, Getty Museum, Gazelli Art House, and Vellum LA.
- Collaborations: ByBorre Netherlands, CommunityMade LA, and artist Pierre Huyghe.
Her research explores cartographic quilts, motion capture performances (Skin Suits), and experimental fashion (Happy Medium). Projects address ecological violence, materiality, and the interplay between digital and physical spaces.
