Brandy Beazley

Brandy Beazley is an Assistant Professor at Samuel Merritt University, focusing on nursing education and community health. She teaches in programs such as the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and the Entry Level Master of Science in Nursing. Her career spans clinical work at UCSF Medical Center and a transition to academia, driven by a passion for supporting students and community-focused healthcare.

Education: Began at Solano Community College, transferred to San Francisco State University for English studies, later pursued nursing through UCSF's MEPN program, earning her RN license in 2005 and MSN in Advanced Community Health and International Nursing in 2009.

Research interests include retention of students of color, breastfeeding support, and innovative teaching methods. She actively contributes to community health initiatives and serves on boards such as BANANAS of Alameda County and the San Francisco International Hip Hop Dancefest.

Publications include work on competence gaps among new nursing graduates, highlighting her focus on nursing education and workforce readiness.
