Brandon Podgorski is a Professor and Program Director of the Master of Science in Sports Leadership at Abilene Christian University (ACU). With nearly 20 years of experience in higher education, coaching, and athletic administration, he combines practical leadership insights with academic rigor. His career spans roles as a college basketball coach, athletic director at Indiana University Kokomo, and Associate Professor of Sport Management at Trine University, where he also directed the Center for Sports Studies.
Podgorski holds degrees from Indiana University (B.S. in Sports Marketing and Management), Ohio University and Trine University (M.S.), and a doctorate from Concordia University Chicago. His research focuses on college athletics, sports business ethics, and youth sports development. He actively promotes leadership principles in sports through teaching, media engagements, and program development.
At ACU, he oversees a program emphasizing ethical leadership, team dynamics, and strategic management. The program includes concentrations in Analytics, Athletic Administration, and Coaching, supported by partnerships with organizations like the Texas Rangers. Podgorski’s vision integrates academic excellence with real-world sports challenges, aiming to prepare leaders for diverse roles in sports organizations.
