Brandon J. Yuan

Dr. Brandon J. Yuan is a board-certified orthopedic trauma surgeon and Professor at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, serving as Chair of the Division of Orthopedic Trauma at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. With extensive clinical expertise in complex fractures, nonunions, and joint reconstruction, he specializes in upper and lower extremity trauma, pelvic and acetabular injuries, and hip and knee arthroplasty.

His research interests focus on orthopedic trauma with particular emphasis on fracture fixation techniques, periprosthetic fractures, and joint infection management. Recent work has advanced classification systems for trans-ulnar fracture dislocations and investigated optimal management strategies for complex orthopedic injuries.

Dr. Yuan has published 73 peer-reviewed articles from 2008-2025, with increasing scholarly output in recent years. His publications demonstrate expertise across multiple trauma subspecialties with a growing focus on evidence-based approaches to fracture management.
