Brandon Golob

Brandon Golob is the Associate Dean of the Campuswide Honors Collegium and an Associate Professor in Criminology, Law and Society at the University of California, Irvine (School of Social Ecology). His work focuses on translating legal knowledge to non-experts through mediated communication and inclusive pedagogy.

Research interests include inclusive pedagogy, law and popular culture, media effects, and law-related education programs. His teaching emphasizes student wellness, stress management, and creating inclusive learning environments that promote growth and academic success.

Scientific awards include four consecutive "Professor of the Year" awards (2020-21 to 2023-24), the 2021-22 Learning Experience Design and Online Teaching Award, Tom Angell Fellowship, Excellence in Digital Learning Award, UCI Inclusive Excellence Teaching Award, Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research Mentorship, UCI Faculty Academy for Teaching Excellence fellow (2024-25), DTEI Faculty Fellow (2022-23), UCLA Alumni Association recognition (2023), and Orange County’s 125 Most Influential People (2024).

His teaching has been supported by grants from UC Online and the UCI Office of Inclusive Excellence. He has shared pedagogical strategies through faculty panels at the Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation (DTEI), where his CRM/LAW C186 Social Media and the Law course was highlighted for innovative online learning design.
