Rachel Croskery-Roberts is a Professor of Lawyering Skills and Associate Dean for Lawyering Skills at the University of California, Irvine School of Law (UCI Law). She is the incoming President-Elect of the Association of Legal Writing Directors (ALWD) and a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Her expertise spans legal analysis, writing, research, employment law, and pedagogical strategies for inclusive education.
She holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School (magna cum laude, Order of the Coif) and a B.A. from the University of Oklahoma (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa). Before joining UCI, she served as Associate Director of the Legal Practice Program at Michigan Law and practiced as an employment attorney at Baker Botts in Dallas.
Her research focuses on legal skills education, online learning adaptation, and first-generation student success. Notable works include Employment Discrimination Law: From Theory to Practice and articles on skills pedagogy, remote learning, and inclusive classroom strategies. She frequently presents at national and international legal education conferences.
Awards include leadership roles in the AALS, Legal Writing Institute, and contributions to the Journal of the Legal Writing Institute. Her teaching includes foundational lawyering skills courses and advanced legal writing.
