Brandon Booth is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Memphis within the College of Engineering. He joined the faculty in Fall 2023 after completing his PhD at the University of Southern California and a postdoctoral term at the University of Colorado Boulder focused on human-centered and ethical computing.

Dr. Booth’s research bridges machine learning, psychology, and ethics to model human behaviors, interactions, and emotions. His work emphasizes socially impactful applications, including:
- Algorithmic bias and fairness in AI
- Mobile health and psychometrics
- Game design for education
- Signal processing for human experience modeling
His projects include the IARPA-funded TILES initiative, which explores connections between physiological/environmental factors and mental states, and ongoing efforts to characterize gender bias in automated employee interviews. Dr. Booth teaches courses in human-computer interaction and team-based software development.
