Brandon Bate

Brandon Bate is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Houghton University, where he teaches courses such as Calculus I/II, Complex Analysis, Discrete Mathematics, Linear Algebra, and Number Theory. He earned his Ph.D. from Rutgers University (2013), M.A. from Boston College (2007), and B.S. from Houghton College (2004).

His research focuses on number theory, particularly automorphic forms and L-functions, with emerging work in arithmetic dynamics. A 2009 publication in Experimental Mathematics explored statistical patterns in Frobenius classes, while a submitted manuscript addresses automorphic distributions.

Brandon is affiliated with the Department of Mathematics at Houghton University and emphasizes teaching in the Christian liberal arts tradition. He previously served as a postdoctoral fellow at Tel Aviv University.
