Brandi Lenz is an Instructional Assistant Professor and Undergraduate Program Director in the Department of Geophysics at Texas A&M University. Her research focuses on natural hazards, subsurface geophysics, disaster mitigation, and geoscience education. She holds a Ph.D. (2021), M.S. (2019), and B.S. (2017) in Earth Science from The Ohio State University, along with an A.S. from Columbus State Community College (2016).
Her research interests include slope stability, marine geohazards, and geomechanics using reflection seismic data. Notable projects investigate seafloor deformation caused by submarine landslides and the geological history of the Cascadia subduction zone offshore Oregon. She has published extensively on submarine landslide dynamics, mass transport deposits, and hazard assessment.
Dr. Lenz received the 2021 Distinguished Graduate Teaching Award from The Ohio State University. Her work bridges geophysical analysis with practical disaster mitigation strategies, emphasizing undergraduate education in Earth sciences.
