Bradley Wilson is an Associate Professor of Geography and Director of the WVU Center for Resilient Communities at West Virginia University. His research focuses on human geography, critical ethnography, and community-driven solutions to economic crises in regions like Appalachia and Nicaragua. He emphasizes solidarity, mutual aid, and grassroots initiatives in rural development.
Wilson teaches undergraduate and graduate courses, including World Regional Geography, Economic Geography, and seminars on Political Ecology and Community Engaged Research. His work has been published in journals such as Antipode, Journal of Peasant Studies, and Geoforum.
His current research projects include a book on food justice in West Virginia and a collaborative study on coffee cooperatives and solidarity in Nicaragua. He oversees the WVU Food Justice Lab and WVFOODLINK, which develop tools and case studies for equitable food systems.
Wilson’s research and student projects are funded by organizations including Fulbright, USDA NIFA, and the Benedum Foundation. He mentors graduate students in action research on food access, environmental justice, and community health.
