Bradley P Knight is the Chester C. and Deborah M. Cooley Distinguished Professor of Cardiology at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) and Medical Education. He serves as Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at Northwestern Medicine and Director of the Heart Rhythm Center at the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute (BCVI).
- Specializes in heart rhythm disorders with focus on atrial fibrillation
- Principal investigator in clinical trials for novel cardiac devices (Amulet LAA occlusion, S-ICD systems)
- Editor-in-Chief of major journals: Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology (JCE) and EP Lab Digest
Research Interests:
Dr. Knight's work spans catheter ablation techniques, implantable device optimization, and arrhythmia mechanisms. His clinical trials focus on pulsed field ablation (PFA), left atrial appendage occlusion, and powered transseptal catheterization tools.
Scientific Contributions:
Over 350 peer-reviewed publications and leadership in multi-center device trials. Key publications address S-ICD efficacy across body types, procedural advancements in ablation systems, and transcatheter valve-device interaction outcomes.
- Simon Dack Award for Outstanding Scholarship (2014)
- Physician Clinical Excellence Award (2011)
Labs & Collaborations:
Directs the Heart Rhythm Center at BCVI and contributes to the Center for Arrhythmia Research. Collaborates with the Robert J. Havey, MD Institute for Global Health in cardiovascular research initiatives.
