Bradley Kerr

Dr. Bradley Kerr is a tenured Associate Professor and Research Director in the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Alberta. His research focuses on understanding cellular mechanisms underlying neuropathic pain in spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis (MS) using animal models like experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) and spinal contusion injury.

His work integrates molecular neuroscience, neuroimmunology, and cell biology to explore neuroinflammation, ion channel regulation, and microglial dynamics. Recent publications emphasize sex differences in immune responses, ER stress pathways, and novel gene delivery systems for therapeutic interventions.

Funding sources include the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, NSERC, and the Canadian Foundation for Innovation. He teaches advanced courses on neurodegenerative disorders (NEURO 410/411, 510/511) and oversees graduate research projects (NEURO 501).
