Bradley Keefer is an Associate Professor of History at Kent State University's Ashtabula Campus. He holds a PhD (2006), MA (1984), and BA (1980) in History from Kent State University. His research focuses on Civil War history, historical memory, and battlefield preservation. Keefer has published extensively on topics such as Civil War reenactments, collective memory, and Ohio's wartime experiences. He actively participates in Civil War living history programs and serves on committees related to historical landmarks like the May 4th Shootings Site. His awards include the Ohio Academy of History's Outstanding Dissertation Award (2007) and recognition for teaching excellence (2016-2018). Keefer teaches courses on U.S. and World History, emphasizing periods like the Civil War, Reconstruction, and the Progressive Era.
