Dr. Bradley J. Dixon is a Lecturer in Media at RMIT University's School of Media & Communication. He holds a PhD from RMIT (2024) and a Bachelor of Media and Communication (Honours 1st Class, 2019). His research focuses on media technologies' impact on identity, performance, and culture, with specialties in parafictional persona, digital platforms, and comedy media. He teaches courses like 'Uses of Film Theory' and developed the undergraduate media studio 'Beyond a Joke, Beyond a Genre'.
Research interests include persona/performance studies, creative industries labor dynamics, fandom cultures, and media preservation. He contributes to the Australian Comedy Studies Collective and co-directs Screen Inquisition. Recent work analyzes historical sitcoms and contemporary comedy media through parafictional frameworks.
