معرفی
Brad Jones is an Associate Professor in Microbiology and Immunology at Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC), with joint appointments in Medicine and Microbiology/Immunology departments. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto (2011) and a B.Sc. from Simon Fraser University (2004). His research focuses on HIV persistence mechanisms, immune evasion strategies, and strategies to eliminate latent viral reservoirs. Key areas include CD8+ T-cell functionality, epigenetic regulation of HIV latency, and translational immunotherapies. He has led clinical trials investigating latency-reversing agents and antibody-based therapies, and pioneered xenograft mouse models for HIV cure research.
Dr. Jones has received grants from NIH institutes (NIAID, NIA, NHLBI) totaling over $15M, including leadership in the ERASE-HIV consortium. He collaborates with global teams on pediatric HIV cure strategies and HIV-TB co-infection mechanisms. External consulting includes VIIV Healthcare for antiretroviral development. His work bridges basic science and clinical translation, with over 120 peer-reviewed publications since 2006, covering topics from viral integration site analysis to T-cell immunology in chronic infections.
Notable innovations include identifying EZH2 inhibitors as dual latency-reversal and immune-enhancing agents, demonstrating HIV reservoir resistance to CD8+ T-cell clearance, and characterizing HIV's sialoglycan-mediated immune evasion. Current projects explore metabolic vulnerabilities in latent reservoirs and age-related reservoir dynamics in older adults with HIV.
