His research employs blast-induced and impact-induced rodent TBI models to investigate neurovascular and mitochondrial dysfunction in mild TBI, with emphasis on blood-brain barrier damage mechanisms and vascular-directed treatments. Current projects explore neurovascular unit metabolism, mitochondrial dynamics, and transport using translational measures including behavioral assays and MRI. The work addresses critical neurological consequences of TBI such as memory impairment, anxiety, and social dysfunction affecting millions globally.
The Hubbard Lab operates within SCoBIRC's framework at the Biomedical/Biological Sciences Research Building, contributing to the center's mission of advancing CNS injury research through preclinical therapeutic development.
