Brad Davis

Brad Davis is a Lecturer of Percussion at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa’s Department of Music and serves as Principal Timpanist of the Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra since 2019. He holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Percussion Performance and Music Education from the University of Kentucky (studying under James B. Campbell), a Master of Music from the University of Maryland (with Jauvon Gilliam), and completed a Performer Diploma at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under John Tafoya.

His performance career includes roles with prestigious ensembles such as the National Symphony Orchestra, Utah Symphony, and Orchestra of the Americas. Notable engagements include solo performances of Michael Daugherty’s Raise the Roof with the HSO and collaborations with conductors like Osmo Vänskä and Ton Koopman. Recorded works appear on NAXOS, Decca Gold, and Linn Records.

Brad has contributed to music education through his faculty role and performances with student ensembles. His professional affiliations include endorsements with Remo Drumheads and active participation in orchestral training programs nationwide.
