Boyang Hou is a Part-Time Lecturer in Painting and Sculpture at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) at Tufts University and a Visiting Lecturer at Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt). As an artist, he works across painting, sculpture, and publication, with exhibitions in Chicago, Osaka, Berlin, Cincinnati, and Boston.

His research and practice focus on the intersection of painting and sculpture, often incorporating conceptual frameworks through publications. He has participated in residencies at The Boston Center for the Arts, Ace Hotel Chicago, ACRE Residency, Compound Yellow, and Vermont Studio Center.
Hou has received notable recognition including the BCA Studio Residency, Dave Bown Projects, New American Paintings Issues #114 and #125, and the Luminarts Finalist award. His work has been featured in Artsy, the Chicago Reader, and Art in America.
