Prof. Boudewijn de Bruin is a Professor at the University of Groningen and Gothenburg, affiliated with the Faculty of Economics and Business. His work focuses on ethical and legal aspects of business, sustainability, and climate change. He holds master’s degrees in mathematics and philosophy (University of Amsterdam) and a PhD in Logic, Language, and Computation. He has held visiting positions at Cambridge University, Harvard Business School, and others.
Research interests include business ethics, corporate social responsibility, and the ethical dimensions of information (e.g., epistemic injustice). He directs an NWO-funded project on fake news and non-evidential beliefs. Key publications include The Business of Liberty (Oxford UP, 2022) and articles on climate change law and financial ethics.
He has received a Veni grant and led multiple research projects involving PhD/postdoc teams. Awards include Life Membership at Clare Hall (Cambridge). Teaching includes courses on business ethics and policy seminars. Consulting engagements span Rabobank, ING, and the Dutch tax office.
