Borisav Miljković is a Lecturer in Ethnomusicology at the Department of Ethnomusicology, Faculty of Music, University of Arts in Belgrade. He is a founding member of the Center for Ethnomusicological Activities and a long-time associate of KUD "Abrašević" from Kraljevo.
His academic credentials include:
- Doctorate in Ethnomusicology (2025) from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade with thesis "Frula Playing Practice in Serbia as a Hallmark of National Identity"
- Master's in Ethnomusicology (2012) under Mirjana Zakić, PhD
- Bachelor's in Conducting (2015) under Prof. Bojan Suđić
His research centers on Serbian instrumental practices, examining correlations between musical traditions and identity modalities through evolutionary stylistic mapping. As an active ICTM study group member since 2017, he presents Serbian organological practices internationally, with special focus on frula playing as cultural identity markers.
He has implemented Ministry of Culture-sponsored projects including КОМА (2014), БЕМУС festivals (2017, 2019), "Educational Workshop for Protection of Frula Playing Practice" (2017-2023), and "Workshops of Serbian Traditional Singing and Playing" (2018-2019). Previously, he taught at primary music schools (2015-2020) and developed curricula for the ZUOV (2018-2020).
