Boris Blankleider is a Senior Lecturer in the College of Science and Engineering at Flinders University, specializing in Physical Sciences. With an extensive international research background spanning multiple prestigious institutions, he has established himself as a leading theoretical physicist with expertise in nuclear and particle physics.
His educational background includes a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics from the University of Melbourne and a PhD in Theoretical Nuclear Physics from Flinders University.
Dr. Blankleider's research focuses on the precise description of few-particle systems using quantum field theory, with particular emphasis on resolving theoretical problems involving quarks, mesons, and baryons. His work has addressed significant challenges including the overcounting problem in relativistic descriptions of coupled '3-body'-'2-body' systems, the renormalisation problem in non-relativistic descriptions of the πNN system, and the gauge-invariance problem in photon coupling to strongly interacting few-body systems. Most notably, he pioneered the first formulation of equations describing tetraquarks that incorporate quark-antiquark annihilation.
His publication record shows consistent output over decades, with recent work (2022-2025) focusing on unified tetraquark and triquark equations, perturbation theory, and quantum field theory applications. These publications demonstrate his continued leadership in advancing theoretical frameworks for understanding subatomic particle systems.
