معرفی
Randy Lewis is a Full Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at York University, within the Faculty of Science. He specializes in theoretical and computational particle physics, focusing on Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD), lattice quantum field theories, and exploring physics beyond the Standard Model, including research into dark matter and tetraquarks. His work combines advanced simulations with theoretical methods to study quark confinement and exotic particles.
Research Interests: Dr. Lewis's research emphasizes understanding fundamental particles and forces through lattice QCD computations, chiral perturbation theory, and heavy quark symmetry. He investigates phenomena such as tetraquarks and dark matter candidates using supercomputer simulations. Additionally, he explores applications of quantum computing in particle physics, collaborating with institutions like Waterloo's Institute for Quantum Computing.
Leadership and Collaboration: As part of the leadership team for the Division of Theoretical Physics, he promotes collaboration across Canadian academia and industry. His research group at York University actively engages in projects like exploring tetraquarks and quantum field theory calculations on quantum computers.
Teaching: He teaches courses such as PHYS 1411 (Physics Fundamentals 1) and PHYS 3040 (Modern Physics), focusing on classical and quantum mechanics.
