Bolortuya Enkhtaivan is an Associate Professor of Finance in the Department of Finance and Commercial Law at Western Michigan University's Haworth College of Business. She specializes in banking regulation, global banking, and behavioral finance with research on topics like peer-to-peer lending, CEO decision-making, and regulatory interventions in financial markets. Her work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance and Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting.
Dr. Enkhtaivan holds a PhD from Texas A&M International University (2016), an MA from the University of Virginia (2010), and a BBA from the National University of Mongolia (2004). She is a CFA charterholder and Quality Matters certified online instructor.
Her research explores behavioral aspects of financial decisions, regulatory impacts on banking practices, and the implications of managerial imprinting on corporate policies. Recent studies investigate how job titles influence peer-to-peer lending outcomes and the effects of TARP bailouts on lending behaviors. She has received the 2015 SWFA Doctoral Best Paper Award and was an IMF scholar from 2008-2010.
Teaching focuses include investment analysis, corporate finance, and financial institutions. Prior to academia, Enkhtaivan worked as a banking supervisor at Mongolia's Central Bank and as a strategic planner at Skytel LLC, with consulting roles for USAID, World Bank, and Mongolian government projects.
