Dr Bola Babajide is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at De Montfort University (DMU), part of the Leicester Castle Business School within the Faculty of Business and Law. She obtained her PhD in Finance from the University of Hull and joined DMU in 2016. Her research focuses on climate risk, corporate governance, financial distress, and liquidity management, with publications in leading journals. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) and British Academy of Management (BAM).
Dr Babajide teaches across undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs including MBA Global and ACCA courses. She previously served as Deputy Programme Leader for BA Accounting and Finance and currently leads the BSc Accounting with Business Management programme. Her pedagogical qualifications include a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGCLTHE).
Her research interests span Climate Risk, Corporate Finance, and Risk Management, with active involvement in reviewing for the Journal of Corporate Governance. She contributes to the Institute for Responsible Business and Social Justice research group. Personal interests include learning Spanish in her leisure time.
