Dr. Bojana Tubić is a Senior Research Associate at the Department of Hydroecology and Water Protection, Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković", which is part of the University of Belgrade. She has been working at IBISS since 2003 and has served as a Research Associate since 2017.
Her educational background includes an M.Sc. in Biology from the University of Belgrade (2002) and a PhD in Biology from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Kragujevac (2016). Her doctoral dissertation focused on "Testing different methods for sampling macroinvertebrates in aquatic ecosystems and examination of the possibility for their standardization."
Dr. Tubić has over 20 years of specialized experience in field sampling of aquatic macroinvertebrates, taxonomy of aquatic insects, water quality assessment, and investigation of ecological interactions within macroinvertebrate communities. Her research spans multiple areas including aquatic ecology, invasion biology, functional ecology, climate change responses, conservation biology, and environmental protection. She has made significant contributions to the development of ecological status indices, which serve as critical tools for Serbia's Water Management Plan.
Throughout her career, Dr. Tubić has published 104 bibliographic articles with 161 citations according to Scopus, resulting in an h-index of 6. Her publication record demonstrates consistent contributions to freshwater ecology and environmental monitoring literature.
Dr. Tubić has been actively involved in scientific mentoring and has participated in the preparation of two doctoral theses. She serves on committees for the education and training of scientific staff and has been engaged in science promotion activities, notably participating in the European Researchers' Night as part of the "The Road to Friday of Science - ReFocuS 3.0" project funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 program.
