Bogdan Romanov is a Junior Research Fellow in E-Governance at the University of Tartu, Faculty of Social Sciences, Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies. His work focuses on digital governance, online voting, and the intersection of technology with authoritarian and hybrid political regimes.

Current projects include the Estonian Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (2024–2030) and The Crisis and Transformation of Industrial Modernity (2024–2028). Past projects cover European interoperability frameworks, a study of the European Child Guarantee workforce, and civic activism in Russia.
