معرفی
Professor Bogdan Dlugogorski is a distinguished academic and researcher in the Energy and Resources Institute at the Faculty of Science and Technology. He holds dual doctorates in Fire Safety Science (Newcastle) and Chemical Engineering (McGill), with additional engineering degrees from the University of Calgary. His research focuses on advancing sustainable industrial processes through innovations in lithium mineral refinement, fluorine-free firefighting foams, and pollution mitigation strategies.
Key achievements include supervising over 50 PhD students (many now global academics), developing award-winning environmental technologies, and holding leadership roles in international fire safety organizations. His work addresses critical challenges in energy storage, circular economy implementation, and reducing environmental impacts of industrial processes. Notable recognitions include the prestigious Howard Emmons Lectureship and multiple fellowships from engineering and science institutions.
Current projects involve decarbonizing lithium extraction processes, recycling brominated flame retardants, and improving fire safety standards through advanced material science. With an H-index of 54 and over 3,600 citations, his research spans combustion kinetics, pollution control, and sustainable resource management.
