Bodil Westman

Bodil Westman is an Affiliated Researcher, Ph.D., and Specialist Nurse in Oncology at the Department of Nursing Science, Stockholm School of Health Sciences (SHH). She focuses on enhancing patient participation in cancer care, particularly addressing barriers to informed decision-making and equitable care access. Her work integrates clinical experience as a liaison nurse with academic research.

Currently chairing Nurses in Cancer Care, she received the 2020 European Oncology Nursing Society Award for advancing equality in cancer care. Her doctoral dissertation (expected 2024) explores patients' experiences of participation in cancer care, aiming to improve tailored support systems.
