Dr Bob Beeton is an Honorary Associate Professor in the School of the Environment at the University of Queensland (UQ). He holds a Bachelor of Rural Science and Master's degree from the University of New England. His career spans over five decades, including roles as Head of Department/School for 11 years, leadership in establishing environmental management programs (Bachelor/Master of Environmental Management), and extensive community/government service at state and national levels.

His research integrates ecological science with socio-economic factors to address complex environmental challenges.
