Bo Zhong is a Professor and Principal Investigator at Wuhan University, affiliated with the Department of Virology (College of Life Sciences) and Department of Immunology (Medical Research Institute). His work focuses on innate antiviral immunity, inflammation, and tumorigenesis, with an emphasis on ubiquitination and deubiquitination in immune signaling.
- B.A. in English, China University of Geosciences (2005)
- B.S. in Biology, Wuhan University (2005)
- Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology, Wuhan University (2010)
Dr. Zhong’s research explores how E3 ligases and deubiquitinases regulate MAVS/VISA, STING/MITA, and related pathways using gene-knockout mice and disease models. His recent publications (2017–2019) highlight mechanisms like K63/K48-linked ubiquitin regulation, T cell dysfunction, and CREB’s role in autoimmunity.
His scientific awards include:
- 2017 CST-Young Investigator Award
- 2016 Zhu Yu-Bi Medical Research Award
- 2015 National Natural Science Award
- 2014 One Thousand Youth Talents Project
Dr. Zhong’s lab at Wuhan University collaborates with institutions like MD Anderson Cancer Center and contributes to understanding viral immune evasion and cancer immunology.
