Bo Kyoung Kim is a Lecturer of Korean at Georgia Tech's School of Modern Languages since 2014. She holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2009). Her research focuses on Korean linguistics, including morpho-syntax, syntax/semantics interface, and sociolinguistics, with recent emphasis on neologisms and gender dynamics in Korean language education. She teaches courses ranging from elementary to advanced Korean language instruction and linguistics fundamentals.

Research Interests: Dr. Kim explores how Korean case-marking systems, particularly adverbial case, interact with syntax and semantics. She has published on topics such as gender representation in modern Korean vocabulary and case assignment in syntactic structures.
Publications: Her recent work includes a 2017 peer-reviewed article on gender dynamics in Korean neologisms and a translation of the literary work Jaepo. Earlier research includes foundational studies on Korean adverbial case systems and second language acquisition theories in ESOL contexts.
