Albert Kim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder, affiliated with the Institute of Cognitive Science. His research focuses on the neural mechanisms of language processing, employing neuroimaging (e.g., ERP) and behavioral techniques to study cognitive and neural dynamics underlying word recognition, sentence comprehension, and syntactic-semantic interactions. He holds a Ph.D. in experimental psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, with postdoctoral training at the University of Washington. Prior to academia, he studied computer science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and worked in computational linguistics at the University of Edinburgh. His work bridges computational models, neuroscience, and experimental psychology to elucidate how language is processed in real time. Key contributions include investigations into ERP components (e.g., N400, P600) and the role of cognitive control in resolving ambiguity during language comprehension.
