Dr Blessing Marandure is a Senior Lecturer in Health Psychology at De Montfort University (DMU), affiliated with the School of Applied Social Sciences and the Institute for Psychological Science. Her research bridges substance use, mental health, and racial equity, with projects spanning Zimbabwe, India, and the UK.

Her research focuses on substance use (licit/illlicit), mental health inequalities, resilience, and decoloniality in education. She employs mixed methods, participatory approaches, and socio-cultural frameworks to address health disparities and racialized experiences. Recent publications examine the university awarding gap, synthetic cannabinoid addiction, and intersectionality in academia.
Scientific awards include the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (2023), International Green Gown Awards (2024), and DMU Staff Recognition Event (2024). She supervises PhD projects on mental health literacy, creative coping strategies, and spatial inequalities in post-COVID-19 housing. Her funded projects include participatory research on substance use in Zimbabwe and collaborations between traditional healers and mental health practitioners in the UK.
