Blair Joseph Nolan is a doctoral student in Historical Osteology at the Department of Archaeology and Ancient History, Lund University (affiliated with the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology). His research focuses on bioarchaeology, trauma analysis, and palaeopathology.
Key research areas include:
- Urbanization in Medieval Denmark
- Analysis of physical disease in historical populations
- Intersecting identities in medieval burial contexts
His recent publication in Open Archaeology explores disability and care practices in late medieval Lund using photogrammetric digitization. Collaborations span Sweden and international networks, with a project titled A Bioarchaeological Perspective on Urbanization in Medieval Denmark: Lund from 990 AD to 1536 AD (2020–present).
