معرفی
Bjørnar Hassel is a Professor at the Department of Neurohabilitation, University of Oslo. His research focuses on neurology, neurochemistry, and neurological disorders, with a particular emphasis on brain abscesses, epilepsy, and neurorehabilitation. He has contributed to studies on the pathophysiology of bacterial brain abscesses, cognitive recovery post-infection, and the use of wearable sensors for non-verbal patient care. His work integrates clinical neurology with advanced imaging techniques like PET and MRI, and he investigates metabolic pathways in neurological conditions. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, his research aims to improve patient outcomes in neurorehabilitation and understand neuroinflammatory processes.
Key research interests include brain injury rehabilitation, neuroimmunology, and developmental disorders. His studies on glyceraldehyde metabolism and testosterone’s impact on ADHD highlight his exploration of metabolic and hormonal influences on neurological health. He is affiliated with the Intellectual Developmental Disability research group, focusing on challenges in caring for individuals with severe disabilities.
Recent publications address topics such as developmental prosopagnosia in complex cases, functional recovery after brain abscess, and the role of cytokines in glioblastoma. His work bridges clinical practice and scientific inquiry, emphasizing translational applications in neurology and rehabilitation.
