معرفی
Björn Martin Valldor is an Associate Professor in Inorganic Materials Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, University of Oslo (UiO). His research focuses on designing and understanding novel inorganic compounds with mixed anionic lattices, aiming to explore emergent properties in solid-state materials. He has held academic and research roles at institutions including the University of Cologne, Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids, and Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research.
Education and Career: Valldor earned his doctorate in 2001 from Stockholm University under Ingrid Bryntse. He conducted postdoctoral research at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster (Rainer Pöttgen), Technische Universität Braunschweig (Peter Lemmens), and the University of Cologne (Gerd Meyer). He habilitated in 2010 and later led research groups at the Max Planck Institute and Technische Universität Dresden before joining UiO in 2019.
Research Interests: His work emphasizes synthesis of materials with multi-anionic super lattices, exploring their electronic, magnetic, and optical properties. Techniques include ionic melt synthesis, high-pressure reactions, and chemical vapor transport. Key projects include developing cathode materials for Li-ion batteries and studying layered nanosheets for energy storage and catalysis.
Projects: Active in initiatives like DENT (tandem solar cells) and FLUFFY (Na-ion battery cathodes). Collaborates with groups such as NAFUMA (NAnostructures and FUnctional MAterials).
Awards and Recognition: While no specific awards are listed, his extensive international collaborations and habilitation credentials highlight scholarly impact.
