Birgit Watzka

Birgit Watzka is a Professor affiliated with the Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle, where she holds a prominent role in academic and artistic activities. She contributes to the Akademischer Senat (Academic Senate), the governing body of the institution. Her work focuses on design innovation, material experimentation, and interdisciplinary collaborations, as evidenced by her involvement in exhibitions like Kammer der (Um-)Ordnung and Studio Plenta – Wald und Designstrategien.

Her research interests span textile arts, performance art, and the intersection of design with cultural practices.
