Axel Müller

Axel Müller (born 1960) serves as a PartTime Lecturer in the Department of Textile Arts at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design, teaching body-related projects and conceptual design since 1993. His institutional affiliation spans decades with ongoing exhibition leadership including 2025's 'ghost poem – Arbeiten der Klasse Textile Künste'.

He earned his Diploma in Architecture-related Glass Design from Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle in 1986 with supplementary studies. His educational foundation directly informs his interdisciplinary practice.

Müller's research integrates Textile Art, Painting, and Body Art through material experimentation. Current projects like 'Kammer der (Um-)Ordnung' demonstrate his focus on tactile interfaces and spatial ordering systems, evolving from his 1986 glass design specialization. His studio practice since 1986 bridges academic instruction and public exhibition.

His 2011 Nancy Richter Brzeski Dream Art Award recognized innovative dream-inspired artistic approaches through The International Association for the Study of Dreams.
