Birgit Stiller

Birgit Stiller is a Full Professor (W3) at Leibniz University Hannover and Head of the Quantum Optoacoustics research group at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light. Her expertise spans Brillouin scattering, optomechanics, nonlinear fiber optics, and quantum communications. She has held prestigious positions including Independent Max Planck Research Group Leader (2019–present) and temporary W3 Professorships at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (2021–2022).

Education includes a PhD in Brillouin Scattering and Fiber Optic Sensors (2012, FEMTO-ST Institute) and a Master's in Mathematics/Physics/Education (2008, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg).
