Bing Yu is a Professor of Finance at Meredith College's School of Business, joining in 2008. His research focuses on international dividend policy, capital structure decisions, emerging markets asset pricing, and the role of women in corporate governance. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Kent State University and an MBA from the University of Toledo.
His work has been published in journals like International Review of Financial Analysis, Managerial Finance, and European Business Review. Yu has presented at numerous conferences, including the World Finance and Banking Symposium and the Academy of Business Research Conference. He serves as a referee for finance journals such as Financial Review and Quantitative Finance.
His research explores topics like ethical companies' stock performance, female leadership in banking, and the impact of employee rights on dividend policies. Awards include Meredith College's School of Business Scholar of the Year (multiple years) and the Ida H. Friday Faculty Award for Excellence in Research (2014).
Prior to academia, Yu worked as a financial analyst and manager in an investment firm in China. His work bridges theoretical finance with practical applications, emphasizing gender diversity, corporate governance, and emerging market dynamics.
