Bill Hunt is an Associate Professor of English at Barton College. He earned his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. from Duke University in 2016. His research focuses on intersections of American feminism, Orientalism, and sentimentality in transnational contexts.

In his dissertation, Hunt analyzes how American suffragists conceptualized "harem" spaces as sites for reform through sympathy and sentimentality, tracing their influence on non-Western cultural narratives. His work bridges literary studies with postcolonial theory and gender studies.
Hunt has studied Arabic at Yarmouk University (Jordan) and worked at nonprofits in Beirut, Washington, D.C., and Richmond. He is contactable via bhunt@barton.edu.
