Bill Albertini is an Associate Professor of English at Bowling Green State University (BGSU), serving as Director of the Literature Program. He holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Virginia (2004), an M.A. from the same institution (1999), and a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame (1995). His research focuses on 20th/21st-century American literature, queer theory, disability studies, and cultural analyses of contagion. He is affiliated with the Program in American Culture Studies and the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program.
Dr. Albertini teaches undergraduate courses such as 'Introduction to Literature' and 'Gay and Lesbian Literature,' as well as graduate seminars on queer theory, disability studies, and pedagogy. His scholarship examines intersections between bodily difference, cultural narratives of illness, and the socio-political dimensions of contagion. Recent publications include Epidemic Stories (2009) and The Geographies of Contagion (2009).
He actively contributes to interdisciplinary initiatives, including work on AIDS memoirs and the cultural implications of bodily permeability. His office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays in person or via Zoom.
