Biljana Veljković

Prof. Dr. Biljana Veljković is a full professor at the Faculty of Agronomy, University of Kragujevac, where she has worked since October 1, 1991. Her academic career spans over three decades, transitioning from an assistant trainee to full professor in 2014. She has also taught at international institutions in Republika Srpska.

• Education: Graduate Engineer in Agronomy (Faculty of Agronomy, Čačak, 1988); Master’s in Agroeconomics (Faculty of Agriculture, Novi Sad, 1997); Doctorate in Biotechnical Sciences, Agroeconomics (Faculty of Agronomy, Čačak, 2003).

Her research focuses on agroeconomics, agricultural and rural development, fruit growing, and livestock breeding. She has contributed to 6 Ministry of Science-funded projects and the Tempus project (IMG), alongside local and international professional initiatives. Her work emphasizes practical applications in agronomy and rural economies.

With over 130 publications, including textbooks and monographs, she has mentored students across diploma to doctoral levels. Her international experience includes studies at Penn State University, New Mexico University, and institutions in Germany, Poland, and Russia. She speaks English and Russian fluently.

Labs/Teams: She is affiliated with the Faculty of Agronomy’s research teams, contributing to its annual International Biotechnology Symposium and its journal Acta Agriculturae Serbica.
