Bige Kahraman Alper is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and a Kellogg College Fellow. She holds a PhD in Economics from Yale University, specializing in financial markets and econometrics. Her research focuses on market frictions, financial stability, asset management, and sustainability. She has served as an Economic Advisor to the UK Financial Conduct Authority (2017–2020) and is a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).
Her work bridges academia and policy, engaging with institutions like the FED, SEC, and Bank of England. Publications appear in top journals such as the Review of Financial Studies and Quarterly Journal of Finance, with recognition as a ‘Must Read’ by leading journals. Media outlets including the Financial Times and Bloomberg frequently cite her research.
