Bhumika Billa is a PhD candidate in Law at the University of Cambridge (Peterhouse College) and a Research Associate at the Centre for Business Research (Judge Business School). Her interdisciplinary work bridges law with technology, gender studies, and systemic communication theories. She holds an LLM from Cambridge and a BA LLB from GGSIP University, Delhi.
Research focuses on modeling legal systems through information theory frameworks, exploring exclusivity/reflexivity in legal coding processes. Current projects investigate how identity (particularly gender) influences legal communication dynamics. She employs creative methods like performance art and speculative fiction to challenge traditional academic formats.
Publications span legal journals, datasets (e.g., CBR Labour Regulation Index), and creative works. Key contributions include 'Law as Code' (2023) and 'Free Hands at the WTO' (2024). Awards include the Gavin C. Reid Prize (2024) and Cambridge Law Society Gold Award (2022).
