Beverley Gilbert is a Senior Lecturer in Domestic/Sexual Violence and Criminology at the University of Worcester, School of Health and Wellbeing, Department of Community, Social Justice and Health. She brings over 30 years of frontline experience from the criminal justice system, including roles as a Police Officer and Probation Officer, specializing in high-risk cases involving domestic and sexual violence.

Her research and teaching focus on domestic and sexual violence, particularly public health responses, risk assessment, and peer mentoring for women with multiple disadvantages. She has led international training and policy development, notably in Malta, and is a recognized expert in the DASH Risk Checklist. Her work bridges academic scholarship with practical intervention and systemic change.
Beverley is the Admissions Tutor and Module Lead for postgraduate modules in the MA Understanding Domestic and Sexual Violence program, including DSVM 4004 Public Health Responses to Violence and Managing Perpetrators. She supervises postgraduate dissertations in this field.
Scientific Awards and Honors:

She is actively involved in advising and grant-connected work through EU-funded international programs, including the 'Full Cooperation: Zero Violence' initiative. She serves as an expert trainer and partner in multi-agency collaborations.
Beverley founded and leads Cohort 4, a woman-centred peer support and mentoring social enterprise in North Warwickshire, which provides long-term support for women survivors of abuse with disabilities or multiple disadvantages.
