Beverley Brathwaite

Beverley Brathwaite is a Senior Lecturer at the University of West London's School of Life and Health Sciences, specializing in gender, social sciences, and nursing equity. Her work explores racial disparities in healthcare and education.

Brathwaite’s research focuses on racial and gender inequities in healthcare systems, particularly the disproportionate impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Black and Asian NHS workers. She advocates for cultural awareness training in nursing practice and examines the lived experiences of Black female academics in higher education. Her work intersects gender studies, public health, and social justice.

Recent publications analyze racial disparities in healthcare outcomes and the legacy of the Windrush generation. Her research outputs from 2014–2024 include conferences, book chapters, and journal articles that consistently highlight systemic inequities and policy reform needs.
