Betsy A. Hays is a Professor in the Department of Media, Communications and Journalism at California State University, Fresno (Fresno State). She served as Department Chair from 2018–2022 and has taught there since 1999. Her roles include faculty adviser for PRSSA and instructor for the student-run PR firm TALK. She is an Accredited Public Relations (APR) professional and Fellow of PRSA.

Research Interests:
Focuses on Public Relations and Advertising Ethics, Mentoring Strategies, Entrepreneurship in Public Relations, Productivity/Time Management, and Reverse Mentoring practices. She emphasizes integrating service-learning into curricula and fostering professional development through experiential learning.

Leads the TALK student PR firm, a hands-on learning platform for students to gain practical experience in public relations and advertising.
