Bethany Hill is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for the Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Community Practitioner District Nursing at the University of Sunderland’s Faculty of Health and Wellbeing. She joined the university in February 2022 and holds Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration with qualifications in Adult Nursing, District Nursing, and Nurse Prescribing. Her practice background includes over a decade in community nursing, including a role as a District Nursing Sister managing complex patient caseloads.
Her expertise focuses on palliative and end-of-life care, leadership in district nursing, and public health. She teaches modules such as Responding to Complex Health Needs and Leading Quality in District Nursing Practice. Bethany is a member of the Association of District Nurse and Community Nurse Educators (ADNE).
Key areas of interest include advancing evidence-based practice in district nursing, quality improvement, and addressing workforce challenges in the NHS. She supports District Nursing Apprentices in clinical practice, emphasizing knowledge, skills, and professional behavior.
